I'm not sure of the sex of this animal. I rescued it from a girl who was neglecting it. I am moving to California and cannot take it with me. It comes with a giant 55 gallon tank that gives him plenty of space to stretch, lights and all. He eats 3 feeder mice approximately every 2-3 weeks, although sometimes during the winter he doesn't eat much. He can be handled with zero issue. I've had him all over the place and he never has bitten. He is a sweetheart that just needs a home.

Looking for a home for my three year old RES turtle. He is about three years old. I am no longer able to care for him and I am moving to NYC. I can provide you with the tank, basking rock, food and heating lamp. He is very good tempered. Home must be ready to take care of this guy because he is very sweet and deserves the best environment possible, which I can no longer provide. I can travel to you as well!

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-11-00304Green Anole
We are moving overseas because of my work and unfortunately cannot take our two green anole lizards with us which is very sad a they have gained a special place in our hearts. We think Anatole (pictured) is a male and Georgie is female and they have displayed mating behaviour. They are very cute and inquisitive and really easy and wonderful pets to have. Their favourite food is crickets and they get very excited when we get ready to feed them. They share a small well-equipped terrarium with a simple heater and I would also include the cricket house, plus cricket food and related equipment to their new family. We're moving in August, so please help soon! (Less)

Aesop is probably the lowest maintenance pet of all time. He needs his light bulbs changed twice a day (a day and a night light), food three to five days a week (his diet consist of household fruit, vegetables, and worms or crickets from the pet store), and his cage only needs to be cleaned every four to six months. He doesn't poop more than once a week and loves having water poured all over his body every day. Those are the basics. Once he warms up to you, he is super friendly. He likes to crawl and hang around on the floor or on people's bodies (especially your chest and on top of your head!) He may be a little mean at first because he doesn't adjust to new settings so well, but ultimately he loves attention and to be played with once he gets comfortable. He's non-allergenic, does not make any noise, and has teeth that are too weak to chomp through a banana. if you are interested, we have everything you need: the tank, bowls, a half log to play with, and the lights. The tank is not that large (I apologize for not having the exact dimensions, but I can find out if you'd like). You might need to purchase new wood chips, but they're cheap and last a while. I'm giving him away because I'm starting college in the Fall and my parents don't want to take care of him. Please e-mail me if interested at email@example.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-14-00282Red Eared Slider (female)
I have a RES turtle whom I am no longer able to take care of. I've had her for 5 years, and as she's grown into an adult, my parents and I can no longer provide for her the proper environment. My mom wants to take her to a lake/pond, but I refuse to do so as it is illegal and the turtle has no chances of surviving. I've contacted organizations but unfortunately decline to take in my turtle. I would be THANKFUL if anyone is willing to adopt her! However, you must be responsible and trustworthy, as taking care of a turtle is not an easy job. I will provide food and an adequately sized basking log.

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-11-00181Tropical Fish, Frog
We are moving across the country and want to pass on our 7 small tropical fish, 1 tiny frog, 2 snails and 1 large aquatic plant. They are all healthy and non aggressive. Fish and plant only, not the tank, are available. We can meet at a central location if that is best.

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-08-00170Aquatic turtle (male)
Squirt is a male freshwater aquatic turtle, about 5 years of age. He is a peninsula cooter, native to Florida. Either at birth or in infancy, he lost his left paw, we do not know how but felt bad for him and adopted him. Yet despite this, he is still very resourceful and capable of moving around on his own. He is aggressive around female turtles. His shell is 6 inches long. We are unable to keep him because of lack of space in our apartment. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if interested in adopting him.

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-13-00230Turtle (female)
Hi There! We'd like to find a new home for our lovely turtles, PeeWee and Herman. Herman is a 3 year old yellow-bellied slider female, PeeWee is a 4 year old red eared slider female; we have had them since they were babies- but feel like we're no longer giving them the care and attention they deserve. The are healthy, friendly and active turtles that get along very well together, and love sunning stacked on their rock. We would like to keep them together as a pair. And would be happy to include their 50 gallon tank, lights, filters, food ect., to someone who is willing to give them a loving home. PeeWee is 6 inches in length and Herman is 5 inches in length. |PIease Read Before Adopting Reptiles & More in New York|
Reptiles & More can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. Reptiles are interesting animals. Many types of reptiles and amphibians are kept as exotic pets. Snakes, turtles, iguanas, and frogs are popular examples. Keeping a reptile as a pet is a tremendous responsibility. Many reptile owners discover that owning a reptile is not as rewarding as they had hoped. Reptiles do not bond with people the way mammals can, and are sometimes neglected for that reason. Also, many people purchase young, small reptiles without being aware of or prepared for their eventual adult size. For example, Burmese Pythons are often bought as pets when they are about two feet long. However, many do not realize that Burmese Pythons are among the largest snakes in the world, with adults averaging 23 feet in length and weighing hundreds of pounds! There is now an established invasive population of Burmese Pythons in Florida due to pet owners releasing the snakes into the wild. Scientists believe these huge snakes will keep spreading out and will one day inhabit one third of the United States! Some owners are not prepared for the long lifespan of a pet reptile. Some species of turtles are known for their extreme longevity. Iguanas can grow to be six feet long and then live for 20 years. Sadly, many captive reptiles suffer from dehydration and kidney problems, poor nutrition, and all other manner of neglect. A person who is truly ready to commit to a reptile pet can alleviate some suffering by adopting an animal rather than purchasing new.
